Mindbody Protocol for Psychosomatic Challenges

MINDBODY PROTOCOL FOR PSYCHOSOMATIC CHALLENGES.
**Always consult with a medical doctor whether you have a physical disease or a psychosomatic illness**
The "Mindbody Protocol for Psychosomatic Challenges"
is a method for locating repressed and avoided emotions and stresses from the present and past, experiencing them, and integrating/desensitizing them. The experiencing and integrating/desensitization should lead to turning off or reducing the psychosomatic symptoms. This approach can also be applied to distractor defenses like rumination, addictive behavior, OCD, and excessive worry.

Here are the steps to the Mindbody Protocol for Psychosomatic Challenges:
(1) WHAT ARE YOUR PSYCHOSOMATIC SYMPTOMS OR DISTRACTOR BEHAVIORS? Choose one of the following symptoms to work on:
*TMS.
*Back Pain.
*Addiction.
*Compulsive behavior.
*OCD.

*Workaholism.
*Loveaholism.
*Hiatus hernia.
*Spastic colon.
*Irritable bowel syndrome.

*Carpal tunnel.
*Allergic symptoms.
*Rhinitis.
*Conjunctivitis.
*Sinusitis.
*Asthma.
*Acne.
*Psoriasis.
*Eczema.
(2) PLACE YOUR PALM AND FINGERS GENTLY OVER YOUR HEARTBEAT AREA AND ASK YOUR HEARTBEAT AREA: "WHAT EMOTIONS, STRESSES, OR OVERWHELM ARE MY PSYCHOSOMATIC SYMPTOMS OR COMPULSIVE ACTIVITIES DISTRACTING ME FROM? Circle one or several of the following emotions, stresses, or overwhelm:
*Anger/rage.
*Pressure to be perfect or a good person.
*Depression.
*Fear/anxiety.
*Overwhelm.
*Hate/resentment.
*Guilt.
*Shame.
*Heartache.
*Loneliness/emptiness.
*Stress.
*Hurt.
*Jealousy.
*Feeling abandoned.
*Feeling alienated
*Feeling unloved.
(3) FULLY EXPERIENCE THE AVOIDED OR REPRESSED EMOTION, STRESS, OR AND ALLOW IT TO BE THERE WITHOUT TRYING TO GET RID OF IT OR KEEP IT. INTEGRATE OR DESENSITIZE IT WITH ONE OF THE FOLLOWING PROCESSES:
*Emotional Writing Process.
*Emo Exposure-Integrator.
*Emo Reviewer.
*Heartbeat Integrator.
*Emo Exposure.
If you notice any of the psychosomatic symptoms or distractor behaviors returning, repeat the protocol.
Notice if other emotions, stresses, or overwhelm are also involved. Experience them and integrate/desensitize them. Keep a log of psychosomatic symptoms, compulsive activites, and emotionally charged and repetitive thoughts that vanished or largely diminished.
TIPS ON THE MINDBODY PROTOCOL FOR PSYCHOSOMATIC CHALLENGES.
*Hydrate yourself prior to working with this protocol.
*Be aware that physical anomalies and injuries may exist, but they may not be the actual sources of pain. Example: Many persons have ruptured discs in their back, yet experience no pain.
*For more on the theory of psychosomatic pain and related phenomena read: John Sarno's "The Divided Mind:
The Epidemic of Mind Body Disorders". Learn how we unconsciously distract ourselves from overwhelm, stress, and intense and enduring emotions with psychosomatic symptoms and compulsive activities and thoughts. Sarno puts forward the idea that the physical-structural explanation for pain has an alternative in the TMS theory which recognizes that some pains are a reaction to psychological states. These psychosomatic pains and symptoms are common and normal.
Take care, Steve
